Jim Postiglione of Symbiont on Minnesota Phosphorous Reuse Initiative
Jim Postiglione of Symbiont was recently interviewed for a Minnesota Star Tribune feature on the state's phosphorous reuse initiative. You can read the article out the article, "University of Minnesota looks to wastewater treatment plants to recover dwindling phosphorus supplies," on the Star Tribune website.
Jim serves as lead researcher for a process that could cut the time it takes to break down and separate the phosphorus from farm runoff. According to Jim, the process he is working on could bring the recovery time from around 30 days using a traditional anaerobic digestive process to less than one day, Postiglione said.
