Marquette University Academic Advisory Panel (AAP)
Our Vice-President of Operations, Patrick W. Carnahan, P.E. has joined Marquette University’s Academic Advisory Panel (AAP) for the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (CCEE). Representation on the panel is national in scope, and members work in the four major disciplines found in the CCEE department: construction engineering, environmental and water resources engineering, structural engineering and structural mechanics, and transportation engineering and materials.
The AAP serves several very important functions for the Department:
- It serves as an external body to review and provide input with regard to the department’s degree programs and majors including curricula and course content.
- It serves as a group of thought leaders to help the department maintain an adaptable and mission-centric vision so the department’s graduate and undergraduate curricula can maintain relevance in the profession, and thereby establish Marquette civil, construction, and environmental engineers as leaders.
- It serves as a conduit for the department to maintain and enhance external educational opportunities for students in its degree programs such as co-operative education experiences, summer internship experiences, project tours, seminars, and presentations.
- It serves as an external assessment group for the department, its degree programs, its majors, and its graduates.
The Academic Advisory Panel is composed of professionals and academics. The members are not necessarily alumni of Marquette University. Membership terms on the AAP are three (3) years (renewable).
